Acceptable Use Policy

The rules for using IdeoQuiz, including prohibited content, politically sensitive content, AI-generated reports, enforcement and how to report abuse.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses IdeoQuiz ("we", "us"), including the test, results, share cards, comparison features, feedback forms and the optional AI-generated report. By using the service you agree to it. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Purpose of the service

IdeoQuiz is an educational tool. It describes political views and political traditions neutrally. It is not a campaign tool, a voter-targeting tool or a source of political advice.

2. Prohibited content (all features)

You may not submit, generate, request or share through the service any content that falls into these categories:

  1. Sexual or pornographic content, including sexually explicit text or images.
  2. Violence and violent extremism: threats, incitement to violence, glorification of violent acts or of terrorist or violent extremist organisations, or instructions for causing harm.
  3. Hate speech: content that attacks, dehumanises or calls for exclusion of people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious illness, age or immigration status.
  4. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexualisation of minors. We report this to the relevant authorities.
  5. Deepfakes and impersonation: content that falsely depicts or impersonates a real person, including fabricated quotes, or that pretends to come from us, another test or any organisation.
  6. Intellectual property infringement: content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights, including uploading third-party test items or reports.

3. Politically sensitive content

Because the service deals with political opinions, these additional rules apply:

  • No targeting or profiling of others. You may not use the service, results or share cards to label, expose, harass, intimidate, dox, blacklist or discriminate against any person because of their political views. You may not enter another person's details or make them take the test without their consent.
  • No campaigning or electioneering. You may not use the service, its feedback fields, comparison names or any other input to promote or attack a party, candidate, ballot measure or government, to solicit votes or donations, or to spread election misinformation, such as false information about when, where or how to vote.
  • No living politicians in AI outputs. The AI report is designed never to mention, rank or compare users with living politicians, current parties, candidates or elections. You may not try to make it do so, for example through feedback text or names.
  • No disinformation. You may not use the service to create or spread content you know to be false about historical events, including denial or trivialisation of genocide.
  • No extremist promotion. Educational pages about historical ideologies, including fascism and Marxism-Leninism, are for understanding. You may not use results, share cards or any output to promote, recruit for or glorify violent or totalitarian movements, or to display symbols of such movements.
  • No bulk collection. You may not scrape results, automate test-taking, or collect other users' results or answers for profiling, research or commercial purposes without our written permission.
  • No misrepresentation of results. You may not present a test result, yours or anyone else's, as an official, clinical, legal or authoritative assessment of a person's beliefs, character or loyalty, for example in hiring, admissions, immigration, housing or security decisions.

4. AI-generated content

  • The optional in-depth report and any other AI-generated text are labelled "AI-generated". You may not remove that label when sharing or republishing AI-generated content.
  • AI reports are generated only from your answers and our published knowledge base, are automatically moderated before delivery, and may still contain errors. Don't rely on them for decisions about other people.
  • You may not attempt to manipulate the AI system (for example, through prompt injection in any text you submit) to produce prohibited content.

5. How we moderate

  • Inputs: all free-text inputs (feedback, comparison nicknames, abuse reports, contact forms) are length-limited and automatically screened against the categories above. Inputs that fail are rejected with a neutral message and are not used for AI generation.
  • Outputs: every AI-generated report is automatically checked before it is shown, including checks for the six prohibited categories and for mentions of living politicians, current parties, candidates or elections. A report that fails is not shown. It goes to a human review queue, and the user sees a "your report is being reviewed" status. If it can't be fixed within 72 hours, the order is refunded automatically.
  • Human review: flagged content and user reports are reviewed by a person, normally within 24–72 hours.

6. Enforcement

If you break this policy, we may, depending on severity: remove the content; block the feature for you; delete saved results created in breach; refuse service; cancel orders (with a refund where the law requires); and report illegal content, particularly CSAM and credible threats of violence, to the relevant authorities. We apply the policy regardless of the political viewpoint involved.

7. Reporting

You can report content or misuse:

  • through the Report link on any result, share page or report page; or
  • through the form at /report-abuse; or
  • by email to support@ideoquiz.com (subject: Abuse report).

Please include the URL or result ID and a short description. We acknowledge reports within 72 hours, tell you the outcome where appropriate, and don't reveal your identity to the person reported. If you believe we've acted on your content by mistake, reply to our notice to appeal; a different reviewer will look at it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. We'll post the new version with its date, and significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
