Why eight axes?

Left and right are useful shorthand, but they hide a lot. A green localist and a technocratic planner may agree on taxes and disagree on almost everything else. A religious trade unionist and a secular libertarian don't fit on one line. By measuring eight dimensions separately, we can show the combinations that make your views your own.

Built to be fair

• Traditions, not parties. We never match you to living politicians or current parties.
• Every tradition in its own words, then its critics. Each ideology guide explains what supporters believe and why, followed by objections from several sides.
• Balanced questions. Statements are worded in both directions, and scenario and trade-off questions reduce fence-sitting and acquiescence.
• Open method. Our scoring formula and our simulation results, including the Quick test's limits, are published.

Private by design

Political opinions are sensitive. You can take the test without an account. We don't store your IP address with your answers, we don't sell data, and we don't run advertising trackers on test pages. If you want to save or compare results, we'll ask for your explicit consent first.

After the test you can order an in-depth report written by AI from your answers and our knowledge base. It explains each axis with quotes from your own answers, explores tensions in your views, compares you with your top three traditions and suggests a reading path. It is clearly labelled as AI-generated, and it never mentions current parties or politicians. The free result is complete without it.

Common questions

How long does it take? About 8 minutes for Quick, about 25 for Full. Is it biased? We work hard to be neutral, and we publish our methods so you can judge. If something looks unfair, please tell us. Will it tell me how to vote? No. It describes your views; it doesn't recommend parties or candidates.
